So why and how could you use it as a coffee table?

Well, first and foremost, it makes a brilliant coffee table for families with small children. I know that when I was growing up we had a big, square, wooden coffee table that I bumped my head, knee, leg, arm and just about every other boy part on. Many a time I would come racing into the room and trip and fall into the coffee table. Had my parents had ottoman coffee tables I would have simply bounced right off of it and kept running. That’s exactly why the coffee table ottoman is such a great piece of furniture for families with small and active children. They are made of leather or some other fabric so that they are soft and void of sharp, hard points.

The ottoman as a coffee table can also serve more functional roles. If you want someextra storage they usually come with storage compartments. No matter what the size of your home,everyone could use additional storage space. Some of the ottomans come with drawers built in or have lift tops with storage underneath. You can fit all kinds of extra stuff that you simply don’t want laying around the floor for visitors to see.

Ottoman coffee tables would make lousy tables because they are so soft you would be constantly spilling drinks because there’s no stablespace to sit things. Well that is true but there is a way to fix this. You can buy trays (made of wood or plastic) to sit on top of the table. You can find trays of any shape, size, or color to put on top of the table. No matter what your style you can find a tray to match it. And once you have the tray in place it creates a very functional coffee table.

Ottoman coffee tables can also be used for their original purpose as a foot stool or an extra place to sit. Whatever function you need them for you will be able to use them for it. These pieces of furniture really complete a room!
