Living Room Coffee Tables

Living room coffee tables are, quite frankly, what make or break the décor in the room. If you have beautiful décor but you have a crappy coffee table then your design will not flow and the room will not achieve the intentions you made when you designed it .

The Design

The design of your room should completely influence what type of coffee table for the living room you should buy. Is your living space traditional or is it modern? Are there earth tones or are they bright modern? If your space is more traditional then a wood table would be great. A nice wood table with a marble or wood top would compliment the classic style of your décor. If you have a more modern styled décor then an acrylic table or a metal table with a glass top would look very classy.

The Size

The size of your living room coffee tables are very important. If it’s too big or too small it looks out of place and it brings the flow of the room to a screeching halt. To make sure this doesn’t happen and to make sure the table is the right size you’ll need to pull out your measuring tape and do some measuring.

You need to measure the size of the space you will be putting the table into. You also need to measure the length of the furniture that you will be placing the table in front of.

The living room table should be of relatively the same length as the couch or sofa of whatever piece of furniture you plan on putting your table in front of.

If you have a very long sofa then of course you won’t want to have living room coffee tables that are too long (plus they don’t make them that long).

So if you have a very long piece of furniture that you plan on putting your table in front of you simply need to make sure the coffee table is longer than average so it compliments the longer than average furniture.

If you have an L shaped couch then you should measure the couch part and not the longer part that jets out. The table should fit snugly inside the L with enough room to maneuver around it.

You can find living room coffee tables online. The best deals and the best selection can be found at online retailers like AllCoffeeTables.com.
