Glass Sofa Tables

Glass sofa tables sit in front of your couch.

Side and accent tables sit, well, at the side of your couch or somewhere in the room to provide a place for lamps and other knick-knacks.

But what is that table that is behind your couch, flush against it?

That is a sofa table.

Also know as a console table, a sofa table sits at the height of your couch and usually it is no wider than about 18 inches.

These long tables are great for fitting into narrow places where there is need.

Many of them can be found in a foyer, a small hallway, or beneath a window.

Of course, the most common place to find glass tables is behind the couch.

The can be rectangular or curved at the front and straight at the back and standing on three legs.

Glass tables come in a variety of styles to fit any décor.

The one thing about them that is the same is the plate glass top.

Bases can be tubular and painted pretty much any color of the rainbow, wrought iron for that outdoor look, wood and marble with an inlaid glass center, or plain old wood.

A caution to consumers: if you have small children, glass tables of any type are not recommended.

Even though the plate glass that top these tables are at least a half inch thick, one perfectly placed fall could cause it shatter and harm your child.
