Coffee Table Set

A coffee table set is a set of matching tables.

This might consist of what is known as a nest of tables where the largest table is on top and it houses two smaller tables underneath.

Alternatively it can be a matched set of coffee tables in different shapes. Accent Furniture’s Parker House coffee set consists of four tables.

The set includes one square coffee table, one oblong coffee table, one sofa table and one end table. Each of these tables is in dark cherry wood.

If you bought a similar item from a different outlet then they could be oak or maple or pinewood.

With coffee table sets the individual tables are meant to compliment the rest of the décor and to fulfill different functions.

Some people like to have a table set where the functions are defined as in the example above.

There are other people however, who like their table sets to perform different functions. For example the owner of a nest of tables may not necessarily leave them as a nest.

The largest of the tables might be in front of the sofa as a coffee table, one might be used as a portable table to put by somebody’s chair, and the smallest might be used to display a plant or other ornament.

Some people will buy a coffee table that has one long oblong table and two end tables.

These fit well into traditionally decorated homes and will often be made from wood – sometimes the larger coffee table may have an shelf or a draw underneath its top.

It is a handy place to store books and magazines that you are currently reading rather than littering the table top with them.

This seems to be the most preferred sort of coffee set because each table has a specific purpose unlike the nest of tables which have multiple uses in many homes.
