Coffee Table Base

The perfect coffee table base can make any coffee table that much better. Now, it isn’t the complete picture because your table top needs to be beautiful also but if you have the right base then you’re going to find that it magnifies the elegance, class, charm, and beauty of your table top.

The Size

The size of the base of a coffee table needs to be precise. If it isn’t well, it won’t fit the top. Or it may fit but if it’s too small or too big it will look pretty bad. So you need to make sure you can find one that is the right size and you need to make sure you know what the right size is.

So how do you find the right size? Simple. You measure it. I bet you knew that already didn’t you? Get yourself a measuring tape, a ruler, or a yard stick and measure the table top you already have. Find its precise length and width and write that measurement down. Now you know what to go with when you go to buy the coffee table base.

The Design

If you have a wooden table top then more than likely you’ll want a wooden table base. It all depends on the style that you’re going for. Is it a modern table? Is it a traditional table? If it’s a more traditional table then you should choose a darker solid wood base for the table.

This reflects the more elegant traditional style. If you have a more modern table top then maybe a base made of plastic or clear glass would be best.

You want your table top to match the base perfectly. You don’t want contrasting styles or contrasting designs and colors. It will not look right and it will ruin the entire feeling of the space. The coffee table is the center of the room.

It’s the core that holds the rest of the furniture together.

The entire flow and feel of the design of the room is dependent on how the coffee table can pull it together so if you have a coffee table base that contrasts with the rest of the table then you’re going to bring the flow of your room to a complete and crashing halt.

Your coffee table is the first thing people notice and the thing in the room they will spend the most time looking at and interacting with.

So make sure you have the perfect coffee table base to go with it.
